About Us
This is a recovery focused, not for profit website for girls and women, from all backgrounds, who are suffering from anorexia, bulimia, or compulsive overeating. This website is also for the parents, other family members, and friends. No money or donations are collected. The foundation of the Activate Life website is the Bible.
This website focuses on LIFE, not on the darkness. The eating disordered behavior, thoughts, and rituals are not discussed at all on this website. Neither are the psychiatric classifications and definitions of each of the eating disorders, nor the possible causes. There are hundreds of other websites which come up in search results that have that information.
Psalm 18:34 "He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze." Psalm 103:1-4 "Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion." Psalm 8:2 "From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger."
One cannot serve two masters, God and the world. In the Old Testament, Abram (later renamed Abraham), chose the narrow road by trusting God with his future. Lot was a double minded man, concerned with outward appearances and things of the world. The differences between them were played out and contrasted in Genesis 18-19. And in Luke 16:13 it says, "No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other..."
Each day it is a conscious decision, a choice made in awareness, to serve God rather than serve "the world" in an obsession with food and appearance. Make the choice to eat "FOR LIFE".
